Abstract

1480701 Seals KLINGER AG 10 Feb 1975 [12 Feb 1974] 5554/75 Heading F2B A sealing ring consists of layers 1 of expanded graphite alternating with support layers 2, having at least the same order of resiliency as the graphite. The support layers may be fibrous or of sheet metal. The ring is made by adhesively bonding together flat annular discs of rubber asbestos and expanded graphite and pressing the assembly to frusto-conical shape. The ring is used to seal the rim of a valve member in a butterfly valve.
