Abstract

1478277 Tube mills FIVES-CAIL BABCOCK 21 April 1975 [23 April 1974] 16424/ 75 Heading B2A A tube mill comprises an electric direct drive motor, the rotor 25 including a member 28 which is secured to an assembly including a sleeve 24 at one end of the mill. The rotor cooperates with a starter 32, the tube being supported in pairs of bearing slots 20, 22. A frusto-conical feed conduit 36 may be cooled by gas flow within the space surrounding it. One bearing ring 18 is free to slide on its shoe 22 to accommodate expansion effects due to heating. The sliding surfaces of the support ring 16, the surface of the member 28 the end portion 12 of the mill drum 10 the sleeve 24 and the rotor 25 are assembled and machined in a single operation to ensure perfect concentricity.
