Abstract

1478096 Tanks of glass fibre reinforced plastics METAL-CLADDING Inc 4 March 1975 [6 March 1974] 28855/76 Divided out of 1478095 Heading E1T The rim of an upstanding cylindrical glass fibre reinforced plastics tank is reinforced by being formed with a peripheral radially outwardly projecting annular web 26' extending from the cylindrical upper portion 25' of the tank which has a depending cylindrical flange 28' generally concentric with and radially spaced from the cylindrical upper portion 25'. The reinforced rim is formed in segments secured together and surmounting a tank formed of cylindrical segments. The outer flange 28' may be thicker than the wall of the tank and have a height determined by the expected wind load.
