Abstract

1478034 Loose-leaf binders MEAD CORP 1 Aug 1974 [1 Aug 1973] 34049/74 Heading B6E A loose-leaf binding device composed of moulded plastics parts, comprises a base plate 12, provided on its lower face 19 with a groove 20 and slots 24 for slidable-reception of a cam plate 16 and pins 42, the latter of which engage dog-leg slots 28 in a slide plate 14. The base plate 12 and slide plate 14 are provided with oppositely disposed claws 26, 36 which are moved relatively to each other by the cam bar 16. Movement of the pins 42 along slot portion 34 moves the claws between open and closed position and movement of the pins along the slot portion 34 locks the claws in the closed position. The claws 26 are also provided with locking projections (39, Fig. 2) which engage corresponding blind bores 38 in the claws 36. The device may be attached to the spine of a cover 46 by, e.g. rivets 48.
