Abstract

1477640 Tufting machine B T TRANTER 3 Oct 1974 [4 Oct 1973] 46282/73 Heading D1G Yarn feed mechanism, in a tufting machine, comprises drive rollers 1, 2, rotating in opposite directions and yarn feed rollers 3, 4 carried on brackets 7 swingable about pins 9 to bring the rollers 3 or 4 into contact with the low speed drive roller 1 or the high speed drive roller 2 to produce low or high tufts respectively. The brackets 7 are pivoted by double acting rams 11 operated by solenoid controlled air valves 12. The feed mechanisms are disposed between adjacent plates A, five of which may be provided on the machine (Fig. 2 not shown).
