Abstract

1475679 Dispersing gases in liquids; proportioning liquids BRITISH SYPHON INDUSTRIES Ltd 4 Oct 1974 [15 Oct 1973 22 July 1974] 48013/73 and 32391/74 Heading B1C [Also in Division Fl] In an apparatus and method for preparing a beverage, a diluent in a container 10 is subjected to a top pressure of gas which causes it to be supplied to a mixing chamber in a dispensing device 16 when a top 44 is actuated. Operation of the dispensing device also actuates a pump 18 (Fig. 3, not shown, and Division F1) for delivering beverage concentrate to the mixing chamber; as shown, flow in the line 20 displaces a magnetic element (52, Fig. 2 not shown) to close a reed switch (50). In another arrangement, Fig. 4 (not shown), the tap 44 operates the pump switch.
