Abstract

1475067 Central heating systems; hot water cylinders R J POOLE N C POOLE V M POOLE and P E POOLE [trading as MAXTON BOILERS] 9 May 1974 [9 May 1973 25 May 1973] 22214/73 and 25301/73 Headings F4U and F4A A boiler 1 for a central heating system comprises a pump and a relatively small liquid container, of less than 5 gallons capacity, provided with an electrical heater having a power of 2- 30 KW. As shown, the radiator circuit comprises a pump 6, a motorized valve 21, and radiators 30, and the domestic hot water circuit comprises a motorized valve 13 and a heat exchanger 14 in a hot water cylinder 15. The valves 13, 21 are associated with a cylinder temperature thermostat 34 and a room temperature thermostat 35, respectively, and with a programmer 34 which also controls the heater and the pump. Two thermostats 33 control the heater, of which one switches the heater off when the water temperature reaches a predetermined value in the range of 160-200‹ F. and the other reduces the heater output when the temperature reaches a predetermined value in the range 120-200‹ F. The boiler is provided with a high temperature safety cut-out 38.
