Abstract

147,455. Allgemeine Elektricitats- Ges. May 11, 1918, [Convention date]. Terminals having the form of jaws are constructed so as to receive and grip wires of varied thickness by the provision of a separate and loosely-hinged tongue c corrugated on one side. By turning a screw g the tongue is forced towards the lower jaw, which may also have a corrugated surface. Various thicknesses of wire, shown by the circles, can thus be clamped. Instead of massive metal, as shown, the parts may be stamped or pressed out of sheet metal.
