Abstract

Wire couplings.-In an arrangement for connecting electrical wires by the use of a connector A receiving the ends of the wires, the wires c are secured in the connector by means of laterallyinserted deformable plugs or seals d of plastic material, preferably of metal such as lead alloy. The seals are pressed firmly against the wires by means of a punch or tongs and can be removed by exerting pressure in the opposite direction when it is desired to disconnect the wires. A sleeve connector, Fig. 7, may be used with two or more seals. The sleeve may be provided with one seal opening corresponding to several wire openings, or vice versa, and it may be made of conducting or insulating material. In the latter case, the wires to be connected may overlap, or a separate connecting-wire extending between the seals may be used. When the connector is made of conducting-material, an outer insulating-sleeve may be provided.
