Fixing.-A handle and fixing-device adapted for several different agricultural implements consists of a gripping-device attached to the handle comprising a pair of parallel clamping-plates with a screw for clamping the blade or tang portion of the tool between them, and a wedge-shaped projection between and uniting the plates to enter a corresponding notch in the blade or tang. As shown, the plates a, b are integral with the socket c, and the tang or part f of the blade e is clamped between them by a screw passing through plain holes in the plate a and tang f into a tapped hole in the plate b. A tapered tongue or solid part L is formed between the plates a, b for the engagement of a V-shaped recess h in the tang f to prevent lateral movement of the blade e. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 7544/84 and 6018/03.
