Abstract

1474552 Injectors CHEMIEANLAGENBAUUND MONTAGEKOMBINAT LEIPZIG 8 April 1974 15403/74 Heading F1E [Also in Division B1] Apparatus for aerating liquids comprises a cylindrical or conical container 1, a gas inlet pipe 5, a liquid inlet 2, and a discharge pipe 3 having an extension 4 within the container defining with the gas inlet pipe an annular gap 6. The end of the extension may be rounded as shown and the gas inlet pipe divided in to sections, each having its own gas supply by axial partitions. The gas inlet pipe or the lower portion thereof may be fluted, and may be axially adjustable to vary the gap 6 see Figs. 3 and 4 (not shown); its lower end may be belled or have a portion of larger diameter; there may be hollow flow disturbing baffles (8) in the gap 6 attached to the outside of the pipe 5 or the inside of the pipe 3, 4. Additional gas may be injected through apertures in the hollow baffles, or through apertures in their neighbourhood in the pipe 3.
