Abstract

1474532 Rotary cultivating tools with screens C VAN DER LELY NV 24 May 1974 [28 May 1973] 23456/74 Heading A1B A cultivator comprises a row of shafts 2 each rotatable about a substantially vertical axis and being adapted to receive at least one tine 6, but only some of the shafts 2 carrying tines 6 when in use and screens 11 partially surrounding those shafts 2 which carry the tines 6, the screens 11 cooperating with the soil working portions 9 of each of the tines 6. The screens 11 are detachably secured to a frame 1 by arms 12 and include side portions 13 and rear portions 15 vertically adjustable in relation to the portions 13. The shafts 2 are mounted within the frame 1 to which frame 1 are detachably secured rods 30 for connection to adjustable brackets 31 carrying axles 32 of supporting wheels 33. A vertically tiltable beam 23 is provided for carrying ridging bodies 27 which form the finely divided soil into ridges or build up existing ridges. The tines 6 can be rotated through 180‹ about their longitudinal axes to change the distance between their working portions 9 (see. solid and interrupted lines of Fig. 2). Both sides of the soil working portions 9 are flattened.
