Abstract

A preservative and water-proofing composition for application to paper, textiles, wood, metal, stone, plaster, cement, &c. consists of an emulsion of soap solution, resin and wood or tung oil. A solution of a colloid such as a solution of casein in caustic soda containing a preservative such as boric acid is added when the composition is to be used as a paint. Fillers and pigments may be added.
