Abstract

147,107. Zeiss, C., [Firm of]. April 6, 1915, [Convention date]. Optical systems.-A collimator with a system of sighting marks on a carrier c, Figs. 4 and 5, at the focal plane of the lens b is adapted to a camera as a finder. Either the sighting-marks or the lens may be adjustable vertically and horizontally. The sighting-marks may comprise framing lines e<1>, e<2>, which show the field of view at infinity and other distances, and additional lines e' for use with one component only of the camera lens. The lines are marked so as to appear as rectangles through the viewing-lens. Only half the lens and sighting-mark system may be used, the position of the framing lines showing the field of view seen directly through the upper part. In a further modification, the upper half of the sighting-mark is blackened and each half is provided with a series of circles, Fig. 7, corresponding to the appearance of a spherical balloon of a certain diameter at different distances which are indicated.
