Abstract

1470583 Travelling box for animals TIMPAK Ltd 25 Feb 1975 [6 March 1974] 10092/74 Heading B8P A travelling box for animals comprises a bottom, sides 1, 2 and an openable lid 4 formed of plastics sheeting, and ends 10 which are formed at least in part of moulded plastics material; at least one of the ends being provided with ventilating openings. As shown, the ends of the box each include a plastics moulded frame in which a panel 13 of expanded metal mesh is inserted; the frame also including a flange 11 into which the edge of the sheet plastics material forming the base, walls 1, 2 and a top portion 3 is inserted. The flanges pass through slits 15 in the sheeting to provide a lid 4 hinged about a fold in the sheet material. The parts may be secured together by staples 13a, 14. The end panels may alternatively be entirely plastics mouldings having ventilating holes formed therein (Fig. 2, not shown). An inner partition may also be present. The plastics sheet material may be double skinned with spaced apart webs extending between the skins (Fig. 3, not shown).
