Abstract

1331949 Sledges GRAPHIC TREND ASSOCIATES Ltd 12 Oct 1971 [12 Oct 1970] 48457/70 Heading B7B A toboggan is formed from a single sheet of foldable material, such as synthetic plastics, and has a substantially rectangular base 12, side walls 15, 16 folded upwardly from the base, a front wall 25 bent upwardly from the base front edge to abut the side wall leading edges, a flap portion 31 folded rearwardly and horizontally of the front wall and abutting the upper edges of the side walls and a retaining portion 30 which engages with the side walls. Mating slots 17, 18 and 33, 34 are formed in the side walls and portion 30 respectively, and bolts 38, 39 are passed through bores 36, 37 in flap 31 and bores 23, 24 in inwardly turned lugs 21, 22 at the side walls to maintain the structure. Strengthening plates 40, 41 may be provided at the leading edges of the walls, and beading 44, 45 and hand flaps 19, 20 may be provided. The sheet material, which may be polypropylene, consists of two outer skins interconnected by parallel extending webs; the folds in the material may be parallel or transverse to the webs.
