Abstract

1470200 Marine propulsion DAVID BROWN GEAR INDUSTRIES Ltd 27 Oct 1975 [17 Dec 1974] 54557/74 Heading B7V An assembly coupling a propeller shaft 16 to the output shaft 26 of a marine gear-box comprises a sleeve 13 rigidly connectible at 15 to the inboard end of the propeller shaft and mounted in a thrust bearing 10, 11, 12. Quill shaft 18 extends through the sleeve and is either connected at its end adjacent the propeller shaft to the sleeve, or is connectible at said end to the propeller shaft, by a flexible coupling 21. The quill shaft is connectible at its end remote from the propeller shaft to the output shaft by another flexible coupling 27.
