Abstract

146,777. Allen, R. March 19, 1917. Mountings for use on aircraft.-Consists in the provision of an adapter for supporting two or more guns instead of one on an aircraft gunmounting. As shown in Figs. 1 and 2, the adapter has a pivot-pin m to fit the usual socket of the arm of the gun mounting and three arms l, l<1>, l<2> with sockets n for carrying three guns, two abreast on the arms l<1>, l<2>, and a third behind on the arm l. In a modification, Fig. 3, a similar three-armed bracket l, l<1>, l<2> is attached to the end of a frame o jointed by an horizontal cross-head b' to a telescopic pillar as described in Specifications 142,873 and 143,578. The frame is adjusted by means of a handle o<2> near which a slide o<3> is provided to control the clamping- device of the joint b<1>. Brackets or clips rare provided for supporting the gun stocks.
