Abstract

567,062. Gun mountings. MOTLEY, L. Oct. 12, 1939, No. 27728. [Class 92 (i)] A mounting for machine guns and automatic rifles more particularly of the kind described in Specification 491,217, has the gun proper connected to the aiming gun arm 1 by links 2, 3 of different lengths to permit of depressional adjustments of the gun with respect to the arm when firing at ground targets. The links are each pivoted at one end to bearing pins 8 or 9 and are telescopic, the other ends being adapted for connection to the gun. The adjustment is effected by moving the gun forwardly and clamping devices are provided to lock the links in adjusted position. The gun arm, as in the prior Specification, is telescopic, the bearing pins 89 being carried by the outer split portion 1a which slides with respect to an inner non-circular portion 1b and is clamped by a device 11. A handle 12 serves for moving the gun arm.
