Abstract
1467749 Reciprocating pumps BENDIX CORP 18 Dec 1975 [19 Dec 1974] 51927/75 Heading F1A A small-scale pump, e.g. for pressurizing the suspension system of a liquid bearing gyro, comprises a bellows 18 connected to an armature 16 and defining a pumping chamber 40 having an inlet disc valve 26 and an outlet port 41, an electromagnet 10 with windings 8 being energized by rectangular waveform electrical pulses to reduce gap 17 and effect a suction stroke, the discharge stroke being effected by the resilience of the bellows. The electrical pulses are such that armature 16 does not contact either electromagnet 10 or return stops 43, 45. Space 15 and gap 17 are liquid-filled and vented via port 20.
