Abstract

1312518 Reciprocating pumps and motors EMERSON ELECTRIC CO 29 July 1970 [7 Aug 1969] 36811/70 Heading F1A A fluid-powered pump, e.g. for pumping lowpressure liquid into the vapour generator of a refrigerator, comprises a plurality of housings 11, 12, 13 with valve spools 19 and pistons 32, 35 defining pumping chambers 26, 17, actuating chambers 17, 18 and valve chambers 28, 29, 30. The valve chambers of one housing are connected to the actuating chambers of the next housing by pipes 56 to 61, and the valve chambers have power fluid supply and return connections 42, 43, 44, so that the valve spools and pistons reciprocate in sequence. Flow through the pumping chambers is controlled by check-valves 47, 48, 51, 52. In Fig. 2, (not shown), pistons 32, 35 are of larger diameter than valve lands 21 to 24.
