Abstract

1465787 Sewing machine case HUSQVARNA AB 14 March 1974 [16 March 1973] 11360/74 Heading A4B A case 1 for a sewing machine with a carrying handle 12 attached comprises an aperture 2 through which the handle extends when the case houses the machine, at least one locking element 3 slidably received in the case for movement towards and away from the aperture, and means for biasing the or each locking element towards the aperture, the or each locking element being adapted to engage the handle when it extends through the aperture to prevent removal of the case from the machine. As described the case 1 carries two locking elements 3 each comprising a strip 4, slidable in a guideway 5 of the case, and a cover-plate 6 with a finger grip 7. Each element is urged by a spring 9 towards the aperture 2 against a stop 8, and when the handle 12 is passed through the aperture a wedge at the end of the element slides along the end of the handle and enters a recess 11 therein. The case is released from the handle by pulling the finger grips 7.
