Abstract

1465633 Developing apparatus OCE-VAN DER GRINTEN NV 18 June 1974 [28 June 1973 4 April 1974] 27007/74 Heading G2H In an apparatus of the kind in which a copy sheet bearing an electrostatic image is developed by being transported through a chamber 60 containing an electrically conductive toner powder by a rotating conductive cylindrical member 65, the member 65 is provided with corrugations 69 which act to return surplus toner powder that accumulates at the copy sheet exit end of the chamber 60 back to the sheet entry end thereof. A rotating triangular rod 72 serves to vibrate the developed copy sheet to remove surplus toner therefrom. In another embodiment, the member 65 Figs. 6, 7 comprises a shaft 150 carrying plates 151, 153 that support rods 152 in the manner illustrated. The member 65 may also take the form of a cylinder provided with grooves in its outer surface parallel to its axis.
