Abstract

1465088 Vibratory filter U G SHAMSUTDINOV J V GUTIN and A S KUPRIYANOV 14 Nov 1974 49230/74 Heading B1D A vertical vibratory liquid filter comprises a vertical shell 1 with an inlet 19 for suspension and a cake discharge hole 3. A drain pipe 8 set substantially vertically in the shell communicates with a filtrate discharge 17. The filter elements 7 are secured in liquid communication with the pipe(s) 8 and are inclined towards the centre of the filter. A vibrator 16 is activated as required, particularly to shake filter cake from surfaces 11 to a gate 4 actuated by powered piston/cylinder 5. Wash liquid may be introduced through inlet 19. A second powdered piston operates cover 2 after release of lock 6. The filter elements may be inverted open bottomed frusto cones (Fig. 3 not shown). The filter elements may comprise an internal support for filtering surfaces and have an internal (filtrate) tube extending into an internal space (Fig. 2 not shown). The filter elements have a bottom and edges of the filter elements may have an impermeable edging Fig. 2 (not shown). The filter cake may be dried by compressed air through inlet 19.
