Abstract

A pair of parallel filter plates, >=15 cm apart, are mounted in a casing into which the suspension is fed by a port in one wall, between the plates, at an angle is not >30 degrees to their surfaces. The lower plate is mounted on a hinged system with a linear ram to open it and has sealing gaskets. The upper plate is mounted on a linear ram with hollow piston rod which acts as one filtrate outlet, the other being in the hinged base cover.
