Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain sufficient stirring action by providing specific types of cylinder and piston in a stirred tank. CONSTITUTION:In the inner space of the upside opened cylindrical stirred tank 1 with the exhaust port 1a on its bottom and the slurry inlet 7 on the upside opening side, the cylinder 2 with the slant hole 2a in its side wall is housed. Also, the piston 3 with the vertical small hole 3a is provided in the cylinder 2 in such a way that it can make a vertical resiprocating movement. When driving the piston 3 vertically, slurry at the lower part of the cylinder 2 is flowed out mostly from the lower end opening of the cylinder to the periphery of the tank 1, as shwon by the arrow mark, and then arrives in the upper layer through the neighborhood of the side wall. The slurry at the upper layer goes into the upside opening of the cylinder for circulation, and the slurry inside the cylinder goes out of the lower end opening and then discharged from the small hole 3a, as shown by the arrow mark. By the vertical movement of the piston 3, the slurry passing through the small hole 3a and the slurry coming into the cylinder are made to collide with each other, thus raising the stirring action of the system.
