Abstract

A fuel tank 1 for motor vehicles includes a dumping chamber 4 to which a suction pipe 5 and a control unit 6 having a return pipe 7 are connected, the latter being surrounded by the control unit 6 and opening into a container 9 which is spaced from the suction pipe so that gas bubbles in the returning fuel do not reach the suction pipe. Preferably the container 9 is cylindrical and passes through a cover 10 of the dumping chamber above the suction pipe. The vertical wall of the container 9 is formed with openings 11 preferably just below the cover and the bottom of the container has a frusto-conical cross- section and is connected to the control unit. <IMAGE>
