Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent water from invading into a bottom cowling and introduce air for an outboard motor, by providing a recess on the rear bottom portion of the bottom cowling and by providing a hole in a vertical wall, which defines the recess, to connect the inside and outside of the cowling to each other.
CONSTITUTION: A recess 11 is provided on the rear bottom portion of a bottom cowling 10b so that the recess 11 extends with a prescribed width rightward and leftward from the center of the rear bottom portion of the cowling 10b. A damper 12 is fitted in the mounting opened portion 111 of a ceiling 11a which defines the recess 11. The mounting bracket 25a of a fuel tank is clamped on the damper 12. Among vertical walls 11bW11e which define the recess 11, the rear wall 11b is provided with a hole 112 which connects the inside and outside of the cowling 10 to each other to introduce air for an outboard motor.
