Abstract

1464664 Controlling drying apparatus BOSCH-SIEMENS HAUSGERATE GmbH 31 Jan 1975 [31 Jan 1974] 4415/75 Heading F4G An apparatus for controlling the operation of a laundry tumbler drier by detecting the moisture content of material being dried, comprises electrodes 11, 12, 21 connected to the input of an electric circuit which controls a switch 33, the electrode-circuit combination detecting, at 10, the electrical conductivity of the linen, and at 20, its electrostatic charge. The circuit 10 preferably operates the switch 33 when the moisture content is about 20% and the circuit 20 when it is nearly 0%, a multi-pole change-over switch 40 selecting the appropriate circuit. In a modified circuit Fig. 2 (not shown) a multi-pole change-over switch (45) allows the electrode 21 to measure both the conductivity and the charge, electrodes 11, 12 being dispensed with and the drying drum (46) forming the other electrode. Percentages are by weight of dry material.
