Abstract

A laundry dryer comprises a rotatable drum (4) adapted to contain the laundry to be dried and having a stream of heated air passing therethrough. The drum is composed of two separate component parts (16, 17) with an electrically insulating annular element (20) interposed therebetween. The component parts (16, 17) also serve as sensor electrodes for continuously and accurately measuring the degree of moisture of the laundry and for ensuring, with the aid of a conventional moisture control device (30) connected to said sensor electrodes, the efficient drying of the laundry. There is thus obtained a drum of simple construction with considerable saving of material.
