1464554 Degassing liquids INDUSTRIAL DESIGN SERVICES (WATER TREATMENT Ltd) 11 March 1974 [12 March 1973 7 March 1974] 11873/73 and 10377/74 Heading B1M In degassing apparatus e.g. for the removal of CO 2 from water in tank 40 in the Figure accompanying Provisional Specification 1464554, steam from 56 draws in water through port 54 as it passes through venturi 52, and the steam/water mixture so formed passes up conduit 46, the water then flowing over baffles 78 to fall as droplets back to the bulk water. In the Figure accompanying Provisional Specification 1464554, water is drawn up tube 18 by steam passing through venturi 20, and falls as droplets onto plate 26. Air from fan 28 sweeps carbon dioxide from the cloud of water droplets. The water may be recycled on average about six times.
