1464411 Repairing furnace linings HOOGOVENS IJMUIDEN BV 28 May 1974 [28 May 1973] 23485/74 Heading F4B [Also in Division E1] Cracks or fissures such as may occur in refractory walls are repaired by apparatus comprising a scoop 4 rotated by a disc 2 so that the scoop has a velocity of at least 60 m./sec. Pasty or viscous, repair material is scooped away as it emerges from a pipe 6 and is thrown centrifugally into the damaged location. The apparatus is hand held and may be operated in any orientation. The disc 2 may be driven by an air turbine 1 with air supplied through the pipe 5.
