Abstract

PURPOSE:To recover solidified slag and to utilize a large quantity of heat kept in the molten slag, by cooling the molten slag adhered to a number of metallic discs, which rotate and partly immerse thermselves in the molten slag, with a cooling gas in order to recover the slag, and by delivering the cooling gas having been heated to a high temp. to a waste heat boiler. CONSTITUTION:A rotary cooling means 8 having a number of metal discs 13 rotates while immersing itself partly in molten slag 7 contained in a vessel 6. The molten slag 7 adheres to the discs 13 on both sides and solidifies, in add., cooled quickly with a cooling gas such as air etc. which is delivered by a blower 20, passing through a pipe line 21, cooling wind tunnels 19, 18, and the space 12 between the cooling discs 13. The slag having been cooled is scraped off by a scraping blade 14 and is transferred through a hopper 15, a feeder 16, to rolls 17, where it is crushed suitably, and is utilized for aggregate etc. On the other hand, the cooling gas having been heated to a high temp. while cooling the slag is fed through dust collector 23 to a waste heat boiler 24, where heat is recovered from the gas, and is returned to the blower 20 once again.
