Abstract
1464253 Actuating roof ventilators COLT INTERNATIONAL Ltd 19 Dec 1974 [29 Jan 1974] 04004/74 Heading E2M [Also in Division A5] In a roof ventilator hinged flaps 15 are movable between open and closed positions when a control bar 20, journalled in the ventilator frame 10, is moved by a pneumatic actuator 23 or by a control cable (50) (Figs. 3, 4, not shown) against a spring 25. Attached to the control bar 20 is a control arm 30 and a connecting member 31 interconnecting the free end of the arm 30 one with each flap 15 via a single fusible link 33, the control arm 30 taking up the position shown in Fig. 2 when the hinged flaps 15 are in the closed position. In the event of fire the fusible link 33 parts and enables torsion springs 17, provided at the ends of the control bar, to open the flaps 15 simultaneously. A sprinkler shield (33') (Fig. 3, not shown) is normally fusible about the fusible link 33 to prevent the fusible link 33 being cooled by the sprinkler system.
