Abstract
The fire protection valve consists of two semi-circular flaps (5, 6) mounted on a common hinge pin (3). The hinge pin is fixed at two diametrically opposite points of the air conditioning duct (1) adjacent to the valve seat (2) formed by swaging the circumference. The flaps are held open by a clip (15) formed by brazing together two L-shaped members (16, 17). The flaps are held in the central position by a transverse pin (4). When the temperature in the duct rises above the melting point of the brazing metal, the torsion spring mounted on the hinge pin (3) is able to close the flaps (5, 6) and so prevent the spread of fire.
