1463358 Toothed gearing ZAHNRADFABRIK FRIEDRICHSHAFEN AG 20 Dec 1974 55131/74 Heading F2Q In a rack and pinion steering gear comprising a steering gear housing 2 and tube 4 embracing a pinion and a rack 3, the tube 4 is secured to the housing 2 by bolts 21 and a flange 5 which is braced against a circlip 7 mounted in a groove in the tube 4, rotation of the tube 4 being prevented by a lock washer 18, toothed on both sides, clamped between the end of the tube 4 and the gear housing 2. The rack 3 is connected to track rods 8, 9 by bolts 12, 13 extending through a slit guideway 15 in the tube 4.
