Abstract

The geared driving mechanism is part of the rotating component of the cab and control mechanism of a track driven earth working machine, and has the effect of rotating the cab in azimuth about a vertical axis. The main gear is a large flat toothed wheel lying in a horizontal plane. With this is engaged a pinion (31) mounted on a spindle (29) connected with the driving mechanism in the cab. The main gear wheel (24) is mounted between two flanges, the lower flange having a bolted connection with the chassis of the vehicle, above the tracks. The upper flange is fixed to a housing attached to the cab. A lubrication tube (37) is included which supplies grease to a semi-cylindrical guide tube.
