Abstract

Sights.-Relates to apparatus in which the sight is elevated by a worm engaging a toothed sector, the worm being moved axially on its shaft, as the sight is elevated, to effect a muzzlevelocity correction in the angle of tangent elevation. The invention consists in special crank mechanism for effecting the axial movement of the worm. The sight B<1> is carried by an arm provided with a toothed sector B engaged by the worm c<1>. The worm is formed on a sleeve C sliding on and keyed to a shaft D adapted to be rotated by a hand-wheel e<1>. The sleeve C is moved axially by a lever M connected by a link K to a crank H mounted on a sector G which is rotated by a worm d<2> on the shaft D. The angular position of the crank H on the sector G, the length of the link K, and the position of the pivot N connecting the link K and lever M can all be adjusted.
