Abstract

1462527 Sheathed cables AEG-TELEFUNKEN KABELWERKE AG RHEYDT 5 March 1974 [8 March 1973 2 Nov 1973] 9836/74 Heading H1A A cable comprises a cable core 1, surrounded by a layer 2, comprising longitudinal glass fibres 3 bonded by an adhesive layer 4 to a metal foil 5 of approximately 0À2 mm. thick copper or aluminium. A second adhesive layer 6, bonds the metal foil to a plastics jacket 7. The adhesive layer 6 could be a copolymer of the material of the jacket 7. The layers could be applied in any suitable order. In another embodiment, Fig. 3, not shown, the layer 2 comprises alternatively arranged longitudinal glass fibres (3<SP>1</SP>) and plastics threads (3<SP>11</SP>). A method for the above cable is also claimed.
