Abstract

1462398 Dishwashing machines INDUSTRIE A ZANUSSI SpA 10 July 1974 [10 July 1973] 30570/74 Heading A4F A dishwashing machine comprises a rotary sprayer with at least one spray arm 9 rigid with a rotatable duct 10 connected to a fixed liquid supply duct 11 by a rotary joint comprising a Venturi formed by a converging section 13 of the fixed duct 11 and a diverging section 14 of the rotatable duct 10. The Venturi restriction reduces the liquid pressure internally of the junction between the ducts 10, 11 thereby substantially to eliminate leakage therebetween. One embodiment Fig. 2, (not shown) has two spraying arms (8), 9, one above the other having upwardly directed outlets, and a circulating pump (12) connected to the duct 11. During the initial stages of pump operation lifting of the rotary sprayer by liquid pressure is limited by the engagement with a fixed stop 22 of a collar 23 on the duct section 14. A second embodiment Fig. 3 (not shown) has a single spraying arm (24) spraying upwardly and downwardly.
