Abstract

1486582 Dishwashers GENERAL ELECTRIC CO 11 Sept 1974 [13 Sept 1973] 39634/74 Heading A4F A dishwasher comprises a wash chamber 18 into which washing liquid is sprayed from openings 36 in an arm 34. The arm 34 is rotated (by reaction, one or more of the openings 36 being inclined) i about an axis which is mounted with an eccentricity B with respect to a fixed axis 50, Fig. 9. The axis of arm 34 is rotated by another arm 76 having a reaction nozzle 88. The speed ratio of arm 34 to arm 76 may vary between 12:1 and 1:8 and if it is arranged to be other than an integer, a relatively uniform density of spray can be obtained over an annular area such as that shown in Fig. 9 for the opening 36a at radius A the speed ratio being 1:3-8. Other openings 36b &c. can be of smaller diameter so that a similar density is provided on an annulus of maximum radius A-B. In other embodiments the arm 76 is replaced by gearing giving a fixed ratio of speeds of the moving axis and the arm 34.
