Abstract

1461786 Ventilators COLT INTERNATIONAL Ltd 8 April 1974 [6 April 1973] 16469/73 Heading F4V A controllable multi-banked louvred ventilator has fixed louvres 10 positioned in front of movable louvres 11. The movable louvres are pivotably mounted on a generally central axis 20 and are adjustable to one of three positions: a "weathered position" as shown for the top louvre in Fig. 1; a "fully open" position as shown for the second, third and fourth louvres; and a "fully closed" position illustrated by the bottom two louvres. In the "weathered position" water striking the forwardly facing side of the louvres is drained away by channels 34 and in the "fully closed" position water penetrating past the line contacts 40 and 42 drains along channels 44 to the cill plate C. The movable louvres may be arranged in modules for attachment to the rear of the static louvres. The side members (66) of the modules, Fig. 2 (not shown), may be fitted with location plates (86) for correct positioning relative to the fixed louvres. The modules may be operated pneumatically by a jack (74) and return springs (74<SP>1</SP>), Fig. 7 (not shown), and two sets of movable louvres may be connected by a linking control arm (80).
