1461705 Automatic firing weapon WERKZEUGMASCHINENFABRIK OERLIKON BUHRLE AG 16 July 1974 [18 July 1973] 31352/74 Heading F3C An automatic firing weapon comprises a support 1, Fig. 1, a housing 2 displaceable relative to the support 1, a breech-block 3 displaceable in the housing 2 between a forward and a rearward position, a pawl 12 pivotally mounted at 13 to the housing 2, the breech-block being stoppable in its rearward position by said pawl, an actuation-lever 10 having guide tracks 16, 17 and being pivotally mounted at 11 to the housing 2 so as to release the pawl 12 from a recess 25 in the breech-block 3 and allow the latter to move a trigger mechanism having a lever 20, and a switching mechanism. The latter has a holder 8 slidably mounted in a member 18 and carries a roller 9 which is engageable with the tracks 16, 17 of the lever 10. When the lever 20 is actuated to engage the roller 9 with the guide track 16 as shown in Fig. 3 and the lever 10 is moved pivotally against the urging of the spring 15, the pawl 12 is released from the recess 25 in the breech-block 3. Continued pressure applied to the guide track 16, via the trigger lever 20, prevents the pawl from re-entering the recess 25 so that the breech-block 3 is free to move. When the roller is in engagement with the curved guide track 17 as shown in Fig. 4, the trigger lever 20 must be actuated after each shot so as to disengage the pawl 12 from the recess 25 in the breech-block 3 and allow the latter to move. In a modification the guide tracks 16, 17 are on the support 1 and the roller 9 is carried by the actuation lever 10. In another modification the actuation lever 10 is pivotally mounted on the support 1, the guide tracks 16, 17 are on the actuation lever 10 and the roller 9 is carried by the pawl 12.
