Abstract
1461566 Supports for photo-resists S O LITHO CORP 4 July 1975 [1 Oct 1974] 28260/75 Heading G2C [Also in Division C7] Al or Al alloy is grained, anodized in an aqueous acid and then anodically treated in an alkaline metal salt solution e.g. Na silicate prior to application of a photo-sensitive lithographic material. H 2 SO 4 is the preferred acid, although HNO 3 , HCl, H 3 PO 4 , HAc, CrO 3 and H 3 BO 3 may be used. The process may involve a continuous Al substrate which may be solvent cleaned, and then grained with a sand slurry and rotating brush. Two continuous substrates may be passed in parallel through the electrolytic baths, connected to opposite poles of an A.C. supply with their grained surfaces facing each other. A conventional diazo resin coating is finally applied.
