Abstract

1459850 Structural joints for columns BSL (BIGNIER SCHMID-LAURENT) 15 May 1974 [17 May 1973] 21545/74 Heading F2M A hollow column of plate construction 18, Fig. 1, having a supporting crown 16 therein has a U-shaped beam 14 secured to the crown by clamps 10, 12; the beam 14 supporting a plate 20 or plates 20, 21 and each clamp Fig. 4, consisting of upper and lower bearing element 22, 24 of which the upper element 22 is of angular section 26, 28 provided with a flange 30 at right angles thereto and the lower element 24 is of angle-section whereby its horizontal flange 46 defines with the flange 30 abutment surfaces to engage the plate 20. The elements 22, 24 are bolted to the member 14 and the plates 20, 21 rest on the upper surface 34 of the member 14. A slotted plate 56 receives the flange 30 which in turn is slotted at 72 to receive a clamping wedge 70, the plate 56 being additionally secured to the member 14 by a bolt 60.
