Abstract

1459255 Stainless steel ARMCO STEEL CORP 14 May 1974 [14 May 1973] 21268/74 Heading C7A A galling resistant, readily worked austenitic stainless steel with good oxidation and corrosion resistance together with a high work-hardening rate contains the nickel contents being directly proportional to the silicon content, which significantly effects the work hardening rate and also produces a stable, self-healing surface oxide film. The alloy is particularly suitable for power generation components where good galling resistance, wear properties, and high oxidation and corrosion resistance is required.
