Abstract
1458559 Thermocouples FRIEDRICH UHDE GmbH 10 June 1974 [12 June 1973] 25569/74 Heading H1K A temperature measuring device for use with high pressure apparatus, comprises a sheathed thermocouple 4, a screw-threaded joint 6, and a sealing cone 9 for producing a pressure-tight seal, the sealing cone 9 being attached to an open, pressure-bearing tube (7), Fig. 2, (not shown) surrounding the thermocouple 4 along its length and the annular space between the thermocouple 4 and the tube (7) being filled with a heavy metal solder (10). The device is useful at a pressure of 700 bars, the solder taking up stresses developed in the joint while screwing.
