Abstract

1458256 Container stowing fittings POLITECHNIKA GDANSKA 4 March 1974 [5 March 1973] 9702/74 Heading B7S At least one hold of a cargo ship has vertical guide members at the fore and aft ends of the hold to receive containers lowered through hatchways and each guide member is formed in sections comprising an upper section 4 attached to the hatch coaming in the weather deck, middle sections 5 on the underfaces of tween-deck hatch covers 8 and lower sections 6 non-pivotably and rigidly fixed to the hold ceiling 3, the sections forming each guide member being aligned when the tween-deck covers are open and stowed in the vertical position as shown in Fig. 2. In addition to these guide members, further guide tracks (not shown) may be provided at each side of the hatch at its mid length and also at its centre, the centre guide track being stayed to the side and fore and aft guides (not shown).
