Abstract

1456937 Pile walls; boring earth &c DRESSER INDUSTRIES Inc 24 April 1974 [14 May 1973] 17980/74 Headings E1F and E1H A wall is formed within a dam 10 by boring a first hole 11 in the dam, and lining it with a destructible casing 13 having an axial passage. A second hole 14 is bored partially overlapping the axial passage and a liquid is maintained in the first and second holes during the boring. The second hole is lined with a casing and the first hole is filled with a wall forming material. The wall, is completed by boring, lining and filling in similar fashion a plurality of overlapping holes. As the second hole progresses torpedo 16 of the boring machine 21 travels along the inside of casing 13 guiding the bit 20 along its downward path.
