Abstract

1455648 Bowden mechanisms ROCKWELL INTERNATIONAL CORP 9 April 1974 [18 May 1973] 15649/74 Heading F2K A cable core conduit 10 for a Bowden type " push-pull " or "pull-pull " type cable mechanism comprises an extruded resilient plastics, i.e. polyethylene, casing 14 having a central longitudinally extending cavity 16 separated by a resilient metallic I-section strength member 20 into two longitudinally extending bearing pathways for slidably receiving two side-by-side Bowden cable cores 12. The member 20 may be formed continuously, i.e. in one piece, or in a number of separate portions, and may be formed from a stainless steel ribbon material coated with a self-lubricating plastics material such as P.T.F.E. End fittings (not shown) may be used to operably attach the cable conduit 10 between a marine steering head and tiller apparatus (both not shown) for remote control of the tiller apparatus via the Bowden cable cores 12.
